About me
It’s important to know that your therapist is properly qualified and committed to the highest professional standards.
I have been working with clients for over 10 years in the not-for-profit sector and in private practice. In addition to my private work, I am currently Head of Centre & Clinical Services at a regional counselling centre, where I have also taught and assessed trainee counsellors for several years.
I came to psychotherapy as a second career after more than 40 years in a service industry, where I worked at all levels from the ‘shop floor’ to senior executive roles, so I am familiar with the pressures of the modern workplace.
Perhaps most importantly, I have undertaken several years of therapy myself. I know what it feels like to be in the client’s chair.
Professional Qualifications:
- Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (Licence to Practice).
- MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice
- APT Level 2 Accreditations in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
- Coaching for Counsellors
- Enhanced DBS (Working with Vulnerable Adults).
I am a fully Accredited Member of BACP and UKCP and I adhere to their codes of ethical conduct and good practice.
